My first choice: The young people of A Poem A Day
, these are representatives of the “voices” of the future, from them will spring writers, poets, screen and play writers, journalists and other brilliant participants of vibrant, active life. This award is also for the teachers standing behind them, the ones we trust to help guide them to a happy, healthy, prosperous adulthood. It is my hope that this award will lead them all to further explore and embrace reading, writing and learning. May their minds and hearts remain forever open.
