Ode to Clementines

ode-to-clementine.jpg

Oh, have you ever trifled with
a juicy tree treasure?
Oh, have you owned
an orange orb?
Oh, have you conjured
a clementine,
With all its juicy jumble?
The delicate flavors
tango on the tongue,
spraying their
supple sweetness.
Tangy but tart
tree treasure from
the earth—
the Courageous Clementine!

I am amazed by the talent in these poems. Jacob is a wonderful writer and so expressive.

Jacob must be an ‘old soul’ – his work is a delight!

There’s a wonderful freshness in the poem free of influence & convention. Jacob will need careful nurturing if education – or rather schooling – is to be prevented from stifling that strong, clear voice.
